Tiffin Univeristy Womens and Mens Baskteball team took on the Ashland Eagles tonight and both experienced a tough loss. The women went into overtime and lost a close one 75-77. The entire game was went back and forth with each team staying just points within eachother which cause the overtime. Mandy Jaeb was the star once again this game scoring 22 of the 75 points! The men also took a tough loss losing 59-61. Both the men and women played their hearts out this game but unfortunatly lost.

Men's Basketball faced off against Ferris State University on December 1st. Setting up everythings went fine the video was clear the headphones were working and then just before half time the system shut off. Everyone started paniking because they could not figure out why everything shut off! Then we realized a fan had somehow kicked the cord and unplugged the bar that all of our equitment was plugged into. Once we plugged everything back in and got it up and running we were already into half time. Luckly even though we want the boys to win, they lost 64-81. The reason we were all happy that they lost is because one forth of the game was missing from the tape and we also had the game on two seperate DVDs. The onyl time we broadcast games on the Tiffin Channel is when a team wins.

On December 3rd the men played one of the top teams in the GLIAC Grande Valley state and ;pst a whopping 57-76. Grand Valley dominated on the court doubling the Dragons rebounds, shots and turnovers. So far the boys are not off to a good start but hopefully the coaches can come up with a plan to turn their season around.

This week I started off doing something different aside from commintating. I was asked to create player profiles for the website online for the upcoming season for baseball and softball. I had to gather information on all of the new players for this season along with contact all returners to get them to send me unpdated information about each individual. Once I gathered their information I then created write ups for all bios and sent them to Tyler to add teh images. I have not compleated them all for baseball yet but the softball ones are done.

November 27th the Men's Basketball team played another non-coference game agaisnt Wheeling Jusuit University. It was a tough loss for the Dragons as this was supposed to be one of those "gaurentee" win. The final score was 78-94.

The Tiffin University Women's Volleyball team played Ohio Dominican University on November 2nd and player Jordan Jenkins gave the crowd an exciting game to watch. The women won 3 out of the 4 sets 23-25, 25-20, 26-24 and 25-12. Jenkins was the player of the game in my opinion because she was unstopable in every category possible. Hits, digs, saves you name it Jenkins worked it.

This week I also got to commintate my first basketball game! The boys started off playing Ohio State University at Mansfield in the Gilmore Student center. The boys came uot on fire defeating Mansfield 105-46. I was the co-commintator as Joe Wilkens took the lead for the basketball game. He has been doing this for 2 years and has a little more experince and knowledge when it come to the sport. It was very interesting to do this with Joe a lot different then volleyball because we needed to create converstantions amunst ourselves to keep things interesting when there were no points being put up.

The folllowing day on November 12th the Women's Basketball Team had their first home game facing a non-conference team Salem Internationsal University. The women also came out with a win for a final score of 64-30. It was a great start for both the men and women's team something they both wanted to help kickoff this season with the hopes to contine with a winning streak!

On October 27th during set up we had some complications when rying to get the headphone connection to read into the voice recording system. Tyler called the help line to try and get it resolved and they helped to fix the problem. With Ty and I being new to the broadcasting and how everything works we didn’t realize that the mute switch was on the back of the machine where the headsets plug into. Silly mistake, but luckily we were early enough to the volleyball game and able to sort everything out. The Women’s Volleyball eam played against Lake Erie and beat them in three sets! The scores were 25-15, 25-19 and 25-25. This was the first conference win for the lady Dragons and was a well-executed game!

October 28th the Men and Women's soccer team faced off against their rival's Ashland University. Every year this is one of the biggest and most anticipated game for the men especially, and for the women it's always a close one! The women kickoffed at 1:00  fell short and lost 2-1. A heartbreaker for the ladies, fortunatly the men's team had a better day. They defeated Ashland 3-1 which is huge! Scoring one goal in the first half following 2 more within the first 15 minutes of the second half to seal the win for the Dragons. The crowd was huge for this game as it is one of the most intense games of the season for the men.The atmosphere was a great one to be apart of with a halftime show to get the crowd involded. It was a big win for the men as they tend to fight for the GLIAC Championship with Ashland most years!

Men and Women's soccer team was at it again playing against Lake Erie University on October 30th. Both teams came out with the win. Women won 2-0 while the men squeaked in one goal to take the W 1-0.

On October 9th the Women’s soccer team faced off against one of
their toughest competitors in their region Northern Michigan. The kickoff was at 3:00pm and the girls were pumped for the game. I spoke to head Coach Paula about the Dragons in their preparation for the game and she was confident that the girls were going to come out strong. "The girls trained hard this week to prepare for this game, they know this is a good team and it will be challenging to beat them but I believe the girls have it in them to do what they have to do to come out with the win". Unfortunately the girls lost 2-5. Northern Michigan’s defense shut the ladies down only allowing 2 goals all game.

On October 13th I did my first double game of the Men’s and Women’s soccer team. The bleachers were full for both games along with a large amount of chairs along the sidelines. Both teams played Ohio Dominican University a team that is new to the conference. The Women’s team lost 0-2 but the men ended in a tie 2-2 going into double overtime! It was one of the most exciting soccer games I have ever watched, a very evenly matched game with a lot of action going both ways for both teams. The coaches were very vocal for both teams along with the stands.
Each team receives a point after the tie.

The Women’s Volleyball team faced off against the University of Findlay on October 21st. Some huge digs by
Lindsay Heller kept the dragons in the game but it was not enough. The ladies were defeated 25-15, 29-27, 24-26, 18-25. All very close games but it just wasn’t enough to get the Dragons a win.

October 5th the Men's Soccer team faced the University of Findlay. Before the game I showed up 30 minutes early to help carry equipment over from Tyler’s truck and up to the press box at the soccer field. After setting up the equipment I sat down and study the program given to me to try and learn the players for both teams. I also began goggling terms for soccer since I only know the basics of the game.

This being my first Soccer game and not playing the sport since I was 7 years old I defiantly made some
mistakes. The one that stuck out to everyone in the press box listening was referring to mid field as mid court. I knew I said it wrong right as it came out of my mouth. Commentating alongside with me was Tyler Blake who usually does the video aspect of the game, but due to the fact that Joe cannot always make it, someone is to generally stand in for him to make the games easier to talk about. There is a lot more to talk about when having another person commentate with you since you are able to talk to them and discuss different circumstances that
occur during the game. The Dragons took a tough loss today losing to Findlay 0-1.

On October 7th I got to do the Women's Soccer Team for the first time! The women came out strong defeating the University of Findlay 2-1. It was a gorgeous day for the game with a lot of fans out to support the Dragons! Co-commintating with me this game was my roomate Amanda Temple. She played competitive soccer until 12th grade so it was good to have her by myside knowing a little more about the game then I did. She taught me some new terms throughout the game so it was a good learning experience for me to bring her out!

October 8th the men's soccrer team played Cedarville. This was a non conference game for the Dragons in hope to boost their nation ranking. The Dragons played a tough game and just couldnt seem to put things togeather to score a goal. Cedarville defeated the Dragons 0-2.

I am very greatful to be given the opportunity to start my intership with Tiffin Athletics. Commintating/ broadcasting is something that has always interested me in a sense where I have thought about pursuing it as a future career. The first game I commintated for was the Tiffin Univeristy Womens Volleyball Team in the Gym of the Gilmore Student Center. I was commentating with Joe Wilkins the Assitant Baseball Coach who offered me the opportunity for this internship.

The girls played Ashland University and took a tough loss with the final scores in each set 25-17, 16-25, 21-25, 19-25. The game was very exciting with the gym being about half full. The crowd was pretty quiet considering the fact that it was the home opener. The girls did the best they could taking it to 4 sets but in the end just couldnt pull through.

On September 27th the Womens Volleyball team redeemed themselves and came out with a win over Lake Erie University in just 3 sets 25-15, 25-19, 27-25. This game was much more exciting then the previous one with a much bigger and loader crowd. The Tiffin fans did a great job keeping the girls pumped and excited after every big play! It was an exciting game to watch.
