Tiffin Athletics Sports Commentating Internship
This internship involves commentating for the following sports; Women’s Volleyball, Men and Women’s Soccer, Men and Women’s Basketball, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s wrestling. This Internship requires one to attend every home game at Tiffin University and commentate for each game/match for those teams along with the duties of putting together player profiles for the Tiffin Athletic site, reviewing tape and helping put together the winning games to be broadcasted, and to help with set up and take down of the equipment used to broadcast and record all games/matches.
Organization Overview
Overview: The organization is the Sports Information department located within the Athletics offices of Tiffin University.
The branch of the Sports Information department that I worked with is called the Video Communications Department, which is in charge of attending
and broadcasting all home athletic events.
The Graduate Assistant Tyler Blake and his student interns head the Video Communications Department. The service we provide for Tiffin University is
broadcasting home athletic events in order for viewers such as parents, alumni, and Tiffin University followers to have the ability to view a live athletic event if they cant be in attendance.
Mission & Values: The mission of the Video Communications department is to provide a quality service in broadcasting Tiffin Athletics in order to achieve customer or viewer satisfaction.
Supervisor Profile: The overall supervisor of the Video Communication department is the Sports Information Director Shane O’Donnell but the
graduate assistant for Video Communications supervises the actual athletic events and is present for all of them.

Work Plan
- Tiffin University Athletics Commentating
- General hours vary from 2-5 hours on various days.
- Set up equipment for videotaping and recording, commentate the game over online
live feed, put away equipment, edit video footage for television station. - Joe Wilkins, Tyler Blake
- To get a good understanding of each sport and be able to fluently commentate
for each game of every sport. - To understand each sport in detail from plays to calls.
